A Seattle-based non-profit healthcare network saves over a million dollars consolidating medical records, without sacrificing security
A Seattle-based multi-specialty healthcare network of medical centers serving
nine locations has more than 150 primary and specialty care professionals
providing medical care services ranging from pediatrics and internal medicine
to cardiology and laser vision correction.
As a 501c3 non-profit organization with a staff of more than 600 people, this
medical group serves a large number of Department of Defense retirees and
employees who live and work in the Seattle area.
To improve efficiencies, the medical group often worked with a group
purchasing organization. In addition, the medical group’s IT department
wanted to streamline business processes and, to that end, looked for ways to
consolidate vendors and the departments to one hub.
Although they had recently signed a contract for shredding with another
provider, the medical group’s team was unsatisfied with the level of customer
service they were receiving – yet reluctant to move forward with another vendor.
In addition, the medical group’s vendors are required to complete an extensive
security checklist from the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST). The checklist ensures that IT providers meet specific security
requirements and conform to specific protocols – but often makes the vendor
selection process strenuous and lengthy.
The Recall Solution
Earning the trust of the medical group’s executives and completing the time consuming
NIST checklist was no easy task. After the initial sales meeting in
which the Recall team uncovered more of the medical group’s business
needs, the medical group’s contact visited the Recall facility for a tour, demoed
tests and sought recommendations on internal processes before obtaining
After seeing Recall’s investment in security and technology, the medical group
signed the contract for off-site data storage. Recall then began the NIST
checklist and legal process which spanned over several months.
After success with this solution, the medical group realized Recall to be the
proactive partner the department needed and also selected Recall’s eVault
solution for data protection and recovery services.
